Lines & Curves in a grid; Acrylic on 18"x36" Canson Paper
During This period, in search of simplistic style starting with interlocking curves, then straight lines within a grid, I developed a vocabulary of shapes and lines, with a limited palette, all organized in a loose grid, in an abstract form. Lines were constructed with awareness, but not with calculation, led by intuition, are brought to harmony and rhythm. These basic forms are then supplemented by other slanted and curves.
Inspired by Mondrian and his artistic vocabulary of simple geometric elements who limited a formal vocabulary to 3 primary colors (red, blue and yellow), and 3 primary values (black, white and gray) and free directional lines horizontals, verticals and curves.
